Free training offer to schools - Youth Connect 5 Facilitator Training

FREE Training for school staff to deliver a resilience building parenting group

Cheshire West and Chester Virtual School are delighted to be able to offer schools across Cheshire West and Chester the opportunity to access the Youth Connect 5 facilitator training for *FREE* delivered by Merseyside Youth Association. This will enable you to deliver parent support groups within your own school communities.

Youth Connect 5 is a course ideal for supporting parents of children from year 5 upwards. The course gives parents and carers the knowledge, skills and understanding to help their children develop strong emotional wellbeing through resilience-building techniques.

The course will enable you to facilitate five group sessions with parents that aim to:

Give parents and carers the knowledge, empathy, skills and tools to promote resilience and wellbeing for children and young people
Strengthen parent's and children’s resilience
Increase confidence and parental ability to support their child
Improve parent/child relationships

There is an expectation that delegates deliver a programme within 6 months of accessing the training. In order to support this all delegates will be offered the opportunity to be buddied up with another local school or Local Authority Officer that is also trained in the delivery of the Youth Connect 5 programme.

Thursday 9^th May and Friday 10^th May (this is a 2 day course) taking place at Ellesmere Port Library, Civic Way, Ellesmere Port, CH65 0BG.

Tea, coffee and water are provided but please bring your own lunch

DEADLINE FOR APPLYING IS FRIDAY 19^th APRIL TO ALLOW FOR PLACE ALLOCATION – CONTACT WILL BE MADE AFTER THIS DATE TO CONFIRM IF YOU HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED A PLACE
